We've recently opened two projects there in the last year, The Modern Pantry and Flat Iron's second outpost, with many exciting others on the boards. Cheeky Little Bar: GENUINE LiquoretteIn the subterranean level of our recently opened fast-fine restaurant, GENUINE Superette, resides GENUINE Liquorette - a watering hole designed in the spirit of a California bodega. With newspapers and vintage tobacco advertisements lining the entryway and 750 bottles of liquor lining the shelves, guests are welcomed into a space equipped to provide a new model of service - self service. From the self-serve refrigerators holding beer and wine that guests can grab at leisure, to the "Rough Justice" program where drinkers can choose a bottle off the shelf and drink it how they please - by the gram, to the cocktail collective where a team of international bartenders develop monthly cocktails based on a hard-to-use spirit, to the mixology classes taught by barman Eben Freeman where upon completion any graduate can jump behind the bar and mix drinks for themselves and their friends. Chef On FireAvroKO’s Brand Bureau division ninjas have been having a serious hoot (yeah, ninjas can hoot) working on the very first brick & mortar for the chef whose heart and knife skillz won over the whole country. Three…Two…One HotelAvroKO’s first head to toe and everything in between NYC hotel is about to open its ivy-clad doors just below Central Park. A modern urban escape celebrating nature and all things sustainable was the name of this very green game. Proud to work with two industry legends—the one and only Mr. Barry Sternlicht, the genius behind the brand, and Chef Jonathan Waxman who’s bringing his OG restaurant, Jams, to the space re-conjuring a bit of throwback power 80’s New York. See the first shots here.
Can Do ChengduGunning to be China’s next big hot spot, Chengdu is gearing up to unleash a slew of impressive projects this year, one of which is luxury hotel group Swire’s The Temple House. It’s the third in Swire’s line of “House” brand hotels following the swanky Upper House in Hong Kong and artsy Opposite House in Beijing. We got our hands dirty on all of the food & beverage venues including a super sultry cocktail bar, a soaring signature Italian restaurant and bar, a modern all day café plus an outdoor bar or two for good measure. Points to the first person to grab a drink from the in-bar, lazy susan, fire-pit-cocktail-service. And they said it couldn’t be done…
Welcome GENUINE SuperetteOur newest baby has crossed the finish line and has made quite a splash in Nolita (ok, ok...Little Italy). Food Halls Goin’ GlobalThe gourmet market boom is in full swing, and we're proud that our first two babies, Gotham West Market and Hudson Eats, are humming along nicely. Later this year, China Live, an authentic Chinese market including a food hall, fine dining restaurant and bar, will make its debut in SF, followed by some innovative new markets in Austin, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Creating Community Around Top-Notch EatsWhat do you do when a prominent developer tasks you with creating, designing and operating a gourmet market in an off-the-map neighborhood? Well...hopefully create a destination, including eight unique and buzzy chefs in a welcoming 10,000 square foot space. We are thrilled that our little food market is quickly becoming a gourmet grub-hub for a growing neighborhood.
Collaborating With Shigeru BanWhen looking to collaborate with super talented creatives, the bamboo guru and pritzker prize winner Shigeru Ban has long been at the top of our list.
