The Temple House
Interiors, Custom Furniture and Lighting
Referencing the fabled southern silk route and the elegance of the ancient commodity, materiality and formal details pay tribute to the creation and production of silk in The Temple House’s signature bar. Two massive, 3-meter wide chandeliers create a canopy of light hovering above the main bar room with forms taking cues from ancient circular silk weaving looms. Shimmering cast glass and brass wall sconces recall organic silkworm cocoons growing from glazed ceramic tile clad columns. A checkered ceiling of polished and matte mirror creates curious reflections and a mysteriously sultry atmosphere. A seamlessly integrated secret DJ booth in the back bar unveils itself when its massive mirrored doors ceremoniously open to reveal a jewel box of a DJ throne holding court over the bar. Steel and glass floor lanterns illuminate the outdoor bar which is also lit up by a fire pit that graces the end of the horseshoe bar.
