About

In the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul, the Italian restaurant was inspired by iconic Italian design over the centuries culminating in a cross section between the modern, bold, sleek Italian designs from the 1970s juxtaposed against a quieter style of 19th century Italian residential classicism.

This is best exemplified with the black and white geometric floor pattern against a backdrop of Italian marble and white Venetian plaster walls with pops of blue accents throughout. The restaurant is made up of many moments including a massive central table with a blue granite top that serves as a buffet station during breakfast and transforms to a communal table for dinner service. The dining room is commanded by two large PDRs and the kitchen is home to an oversized copper pizza oven. The color palette in the bar skews a bit warmer featuring walnut throughout but still has its own personality with the insertion of mid-century modern furniture which adds an eclectic flair.

Modern Geometries

The space is a balance of the classic Palladian-influenced Italian residential interior with injections of bold, sleek designs from iconic 1970s Italian designers. Taking on a distinctive Italian look and feel through subtle references to Italian design, this all-day dining restaurant also functions as a steakhouse and bar later into the day.

An oversized modern black and white geometric floor pattern provides a bold contrast against the white molded walls and Italian marble throughout. Brass screens with patterns taken from traditional Korean motifs surprisingly take on a modern look when juxtaposed against the other existing geometries.

The Art of the Screen

Metal screens offer the flexibility to close the VIP lounge for private parties or open it for DJ parties. The patterns of the screens were inspired from traditional Korean motifs used to decorate traditional silk garments.

All the lights were designed by AvroKO in the spirit of iconic Italian designs of the '70s. Brass fittings inject a bold and modern statement throughout.
