About

In the same spirit as Chief LA and Chief Chicago (both by AvroKO), Chief New York is a modern Pied a Terre meant to serve as a space for women to find supportive connection and empowerment.

As the main flagship property, the design of Chief's New York Clubhouse set the direction for brand design to be rolled out in its other locations. The core DNA was developed to celebrate a female focused environment. Works by female artists were used throughout each location, whilst the color palette expressed a bold, lush and refreshing take on the classic member's club.

Quintessential NY

Combining the layered architectural detailing and custom carpentry of brownstone interiors with exposed brick and structural elements strikes a uniquely New York balance. The eclectic collection and plush comfort of the design channels a worldly New Yorker's home that creates an enticing third space for members.

The main lounge offers members smaller corners they can carve out as well as the flexibility to accommodate large groups to gather around influential speakers. Multiple salons are connected via generous, gallery-like corridors that offer additional break-out seating, becoming destinations of their own. A rich, deep burgundy color palette fills these spaces, offering a contrast to the signature green palette throughout.

Salon Significance

Elsie de Wolfe's Sunday salons in the same Union Square neighborhood at the turn of the century inspired the dynamic and inviting spaces for members to foster connections with their equally impactful peers. Every room was developed to have its own, unique character.

Jewel Box Bar

Entering off the elevator lobby, as members make their way into the main Salon, they are greeted by an intimate feature bar which sets the tone for social engagement as a core principle of the clubhouse. Rich green marble and leather clad both the bar front and countertop, giving this signature bar a bold, monolithic quality against the deep green walls.

A large marble back bar creates a dramatic framed moment, topped out by a custom designed chandelier. The bar extends into the Salon, providing an activation moment for the room.
